Goosepoint Lodge: Your Blue Ridge Mountain Sanctuary
Escape to a truly unique retreat nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains at the top of a stunning quartz mountain. Goosepoint Lodge offers an unparalleled experience, blending luxury comfort with 30,000 acres of protected nature.
The Property: Comfort & Connection
Our three-bedroom cabin (sleeping 6 adults) features a bonus loft area perfect for kids, ensuring plenty of space for the whole family. The lodge is designed for ultimate relaxation and communion with nature, featuring:
• Year-Round Relaxation: Enjoy two incredible outdoor living spaces, including a versatile three-season sun room (where, as one guest put it, you can "start your mornings and end your nights with the fireplace going").
• The Ultimate Outdoor Setup: Melt your stress away in the hot tub, where you can relax while listening to the tree frogs or—for the sports fan—turn on the outdoor TV (a feature one recent guest's husband "spent the majority of his time out there" enjoying!).
• Cleanse Your Soul: We invite you to experience the deep relaxation of a forest 'ion bath', where the pristine air cleanses your body and soul. The cabin is so well thought out, and the kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs.
The Location: Pristine, Private, and Peerless
Goosepoint Lodge is a true outpost of tranquility:
• Lake Access: We are only 600 yards from the pristine waters of Lake Philpott, known as the cleanest lake in Virginia. This spring-fed, mountain-top lake is maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers, ensuring a non-residential, untouched shoreline. Enjoy some of the best fishing anywhere!
• Deep Wilderness: The property sits on 10 private acres surrounded by 30,000 acres of protected USDA and Corps of Engineers land, right next to Fairy Stone State Park.
• Majestic Views & Wildlife: The scenic drive in—a beautiful, paved route paralleling the Blue Ridge Parkway—offers majestic mountain views. You'll be greeted by abundant wildlife, as this area is a bird sanctuary and so remote that sightings of deer, turkey, and more are common. (Some even claim to have seen Sasquatch!)
• Starry Nights: Due to the complete lack of light pollution, you'll witness spectacular stars, meteor showers, full moons, and even the occasional UFO with incredible clarity.

Testimonials
My husband and I had a much-needed vacation at The Cabin at Goosepoint Outpost! When we arrived, my husband kept saying, 'Wow! This is amazing!' The cabin was so comfortable, and the location was perfect. We took a walk to the water and spotted a perfect place to set up our hammocks on some trees by the water and spent the day reading by the water. We ate lunch at Railway Cafe. My husband’s favorite spot was the outdoor TV area. He spent the majority of his time out there. I enjoyed watching TV from the hot tub and loved starting my mornings in the sunroom and ending my nights in the sunroom with the fireplace going. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need to cook. When we arrived, we found snacks and waters next to a notebook that had information on all things local, including the nearest hospital, which was nice just in case of an emergency. The cabin was so well thought out. My only regret is that we didn’t spend more days there. Next time, we will book it for more days, and we definitely rent a boat and spend a day on the water. We will definitely be back soon!
